2018 Executive team
President - Teace MarkwalterTeace is from Vienna, Virginia and is majoring in Human Development, with minors in Equine Science and Medicine in Society. She wants to get a masters in public health to work in health outreach and education. She enjoys spending time with her dog Maggie.
She is a member of the equestrian club, and loves riding her two horses Sonny and Elijah. She is accomplished in Dressage. Her passion for Ag started with horses and through Sigma Alpha it grew. Used to serve as philanthropy chair and organized a very successful food drive to support Feeding America: Southwest Virginia. 2nd Vice president - Tori ThortonTori is from Franklin County, VA and is double majoring in APSC and Dairy Science. She aspires to be a food animal veterinarian in the future. She is a member of Collegiate Young Farmers and National Wild Turkey Federation at Virginia Tech. She previously served as Leadership Chair.
She enjoys fishing, baking, and playing with her dogs. She also loves snacking on candy and ice cream. |
2nd vice president - Harley GrenierHarley grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is majoring in Biology and APSC and also has a minor in Psychology. She was previously our rush chair! She is also a member of the pre-vet club, and aspires to be an exotic veterinarian.
She enjoys cake decorating, furniture decorating, and watching Netflix. She has worked at three zoos! Her favorite animal is the Red Panda. Favorite Quote: "Let your smile change the world, but don't let the world change your smile" |
secretary - Kylie FerrentinoKylie grew up in New Jersey outside of NYC, and found her passion for agriculture at Virginia Tech. She is pursuing two degrees: one in Animal and Poultry Sciences and the second in Communications so she can pursue a career in Public Relations to promote the interests of the agriculture industry. She was previously the Social Chair and before that was the Historian and Public relations chair.
Currently she is an undergraduate research assistant in a lab that is studying dairy nutrition and as well as a lab that studies antibiotic resistance in mongoose in Botswana. She is also a member of Block and Bridle and serves as that organizations Secretary and Co-BBQ chair. When she's not doing schoolwork or extracurriculars, she is trying to learn to learn to play the ukulele or watching videos of pugs doing cute things. |
treasurer - Madeline woodMadeline is from Newport News, VA and is majoring in Marine Fish Conservation with a minor in Animal Science - Equine. Her career goal is to be a marine mammal veterinarian or a rehabilitation technician.
She is interested in polo, horseback riding, painting, fishing, and adventuring with her black lab Riley. She is fundraising chair for the Polo Club at VT and is a member of pre-vet club. Her favorite thing about Ag is that it exists in your daily life. The hard work and dedication of farming communities produces everything from the clothes your wear to the food you eat.
